Manifesting: Even If You Don’t Believe In The Woo Woo

Mindset

I came across manifesting when I found the podcast Manifestation Babe.  I thought manifesting was a fun concept but I just didn’t understand how literally just thinking about wanting something could give me that thing.  After all, that is the big allure to manifestation.

Manifestation is mainly linked with the universal law of attraction.  This law states that like attracts like.  So positive thoughts, attract a positive mind, which creates a positive life.  While I believe whole heartily in this law, it is not as simple as people like to say it is.  Also, there are 12 Universal Laws that play into the world of manifesting, not just the Law of Attraction.

So what exactly is manifestation?  Is it just made up of 12 laws?  Will it just give me whatever I want in this world?  Do I simply have to think about what I want and it’ll appear out of thin air?  Well strap in because that’s what I intend to answer in this blog post!

How to manifest your dream life even if you aren't woo woo.

What is Manifestation?

The actual definition of manifestation states:

“an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.”

In the spiritual world, this means an event, action, or object that is brought forth in a physical form by using thoughts, feelings, and inspired action. For example, it would be the act of wanting a new car and then using thoughts, feelings, and inspired action to obtain that new car.

I want to emphasize the inspired action.  Until I learned about the Law of Action, manifestation made absolutely no sense to me.  I do believe narrowing your thoughts and feelings onto what you want can help create that thing manifest into your life, but with the action portion I believe all manifestations fall flat.  And this is why I believe manifestation is so powerful and goes well beyond the woo woo world.

If I need action, aren’t I just working toward a goal, not manifesting?

In a sense, yes! Manifesting something is really just having a definite goal and getting crystal clear on what you want in this world.  I believe what sets manifestation apart from simply having a goal is the energy you put out into the universe.  Let’s take the car example again.  Say you want to manifest a brand new Suburban.  Once you put it out into the Universe that it’s something you want, I bet you will start to see more Suburbans on the road.  I bet you’ll start to see more ads for Suburbans.  Now, you can choose to look at this one of two ways.  1.) You are super focused on your goal and now you are becoming aware of all things pertaining to Suburbans.  2.) The Universe is guiding you and relaying Suburban type messages to help guide you on your manifestation.

You can believe what ever you want to believe, but in the end, it’s all the same thing.  Either by your own mind, or outside forces, you are being guided to what you want and what you think about, hence the Law of Attraction.  This also means that you are always manifesting.  Whatever is in your life, you’ve manifested.  As long as your mind is thinking, you are manifesting.  This is why thoughts are so powerful.  If you need tips on how to adjust your mindset, check out my blog post here

How to set up an intentional manifestation practice?

There are so many different ways to set up an intentional manifestation process when you want to either get crystal clear on what you want or just speed up the process of what you want.  I will share how I use an intentional practice for myself.  It really is all about finding what works for you though so if you want to take and tweak what I have, go for it!  There is no right or wrong way to do this!

I also want to add one more tidbit before I share my steps.  This can work on all things, not just physical things.  If you want a new career, find a partner, feel a certain way in your life, this can help all of that!  So, don’t limit this to only physical things.

1. Get Crystal Clear On What You Want

This is the hardest one for me and this is where I spend the most time.  Getting clear on what you want is necessary.  We live in a world where you can have whatever you want and be whoever you want to be.  With so many options, it’s hard to decide exactly what you want.

My favorite way to get crystal clear on what I want is to journal.  My favorite journaling prompt is to write out a perfect day with as much detail as I can.  In this prompt, there are no limitations whatsoever.  I will do this daily until I have refined my perfect day with as much detail as I can.

But, you might know exactly what you want and this step might be a breeze for you.  If it is, this journal prompt can help you with the next step as well.  Also, if you are looking for some cute journals, check out the ones I have designed here

2. Visualize your dream life

When you visualize what you want, it makes it easier for the mind to know that it is attainable and you will be more likely to obtain it.  You can use the journaling prompt above to visualize what you want or you could meditate, day dream, draw, really anything that will help you visualize your dreams better.

Personally, I like to do the above journal prompt about my perfect day and then meditate for a couple minutes on it.  Once I am done meditating, I will jot down any notes or any details that I noticed during my meditation.  I love this exercises and it is something I have started incorporating into my morning practice.

3. Create your higher self

This is my favorite part of manifestation.  I like to make a description or journal on who my highest self is.  I typically take the journal prompt from before and just write out how my highest self would feel and act in those situation that come about in my perfect day.  I write out what my daily habits would be and how I would take care of myself.  It is best to get down to as much detail as possible.  From how you dress to how you talk.  The more detail, the better. Once again, if you can visualize it, it feels more attainable.

Simply ask yourself, who do I need to become to step into the person who has the things I am manifesting.

4. Ask the Universe

This step can be a bit woo woo so if that’s not your thing, go ahead and skip this step.  I like to send a clear message to the Universe stating what I want  and then release it.  To release it, all you have to do is show the Universe gratitude as if you already have what you desire and then trust that he Universe has your back.  That’s it, super simple.

5. Take inspired action

When I first learned about manifesting, this is the step that was always left out.  There were amazing stories of people manifesting the life of their dreams, but they never spoke about the action they took to get there.  It made all their stories so unbelievable and unrelatable.  It’s like they were scared to admit they took any sort of action to get the life they always wanted.  The Law of Attraction is nothing without the Law of Action.  You can think about that Suburban all you want but it’s not going to fall out of the sky and onto your driveway.  YOU HAVE TO TAKE ACTION!

Now remember that list you made earlier of your higher self?  That’s where your inspired action should start.  Start becoming the person you need to be to manifest the things you desire.  And because I am a firm believer in taking some sort of action right away, I like to do at least one thing that I know will move me in the right direction immediately.  So once you make that list and release your wants to the Universe, take some sort of action.

I hope this post was helpful and gives you a good base for when you are starting your manifesting journey!  Let me know your favorite ways to manifest!
