This new year will bring so many new things! Last year I started this blog and I have loved creating content and learning new things along the way. While my blog focused on non-toxic living and adventures in 2019, I’m making a little bit of a change for 2020. I will continue on my non-toxic journey but dive a little bit deeper. I will also continue to take and blog about adventures, just not as frequently. My big topic for 2020 is self-care!
Self-care is something I feel very passionate about. For years I pushed it to the side and deemed it unncessessary and only a luxury. I have learned through out the last couple years that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity. It is not something only the wealthy can afford and it should be a nonnegotiable for everyone!
While I do believe that self-care is becoming more and more talked about and more and more popular, I still think there is a certain stigma out there that self-care is a luxury and not for the average, busy person. I want to change this stigma and help people realize that self-care is for everyone, and should be a staple in everyone’s life.
My mission in 2020 is to spread the word and encourage everyone to create self-care time. I know people are busy and I know it’s hard to add another thing into your schedule, but in my eyes, it is necessary. I have a full time job, two kids, three dogs, a long commute, chores, dinner, a husband, and ten million other things to do, but every week, I time block self-care time. My husband knows and graciously watches the kids for me, or I plan self-care for when the kiddos are in bed. Even if it is only fifteen minutes a day, it’s necessary!
Now, I am still on my non-toxic journey and will continue to share that journey with you. I have learned that my non-toxic journey is actually a form of self-care so it all weaves in together. I will continue to talk about switching out products since I am always trying new things and more and more products are becoming non-toxic! But I will be diving a little deeper into nutrition and food. Some big topics I have planned are:
- healing the gut
- non-toxic foods
- super foods
- water
- exercise (how it helps the body, not workouts)
I also won’t entirely abandon my adventures, after all taking adventures is a great form of self care. I will be posting about them a little less frequently but I do plan on taking some big vacations in 2020! You will definitely see things about:
- Disneyland
- Disney World
- Missouri
- Montana
- Mountains
Thank you so much for all the support in 2019. I could not be more ready for 2020 and I hope you stick around for my journey!
