Who wants beautiful glowing skin? I do and I’m pretty sure every other woman does too! Well if you want glowing skin, you better start exfoliating!

My skin is something that I am very intentional about. I absolutely hate wearing foundation or any make up that sits on my skin, so I try to keep my face as clear and glowing as possible! I have learned that exfoliating my skin is one of the best things to keep it healthy and glowing!

There are so many benefits of exfoliating your skin. A couple of those benefits include:

  • detox the skin by activating the lymphatic drainage system
  • skin cell turnover
  • stimulates collagen production
  • helps combat acne
  • allows skin care products to penetrate the skin deeper

Personally, I like to exfoliate my skin 2-3 times a week but I think 1-2 times is sufficient. I do a couple different types of exfoliation so not all of it is a harsh exfoliation. Here are a couple different ways I like to exfoliate my skin!

Face Scrub

This is probably the first thing that comes to mind when people think of exfoliating. Face scrubs are a really great way to exfoliate the skin and a very quick one! I love this because I can use a face scrub if I just feel like my face needs a quick scrub down and a pick me up. My favorite face scrub is the Berry Refine Scrub from Monat. It uses cranberry seeds as the exfoliant rather than plastic. I would recommend finding a face scrub that doesn’t use plastic as the exfoliant because the little beads can actually get stuck in your pores!

Shaving Your Face

Yep I said it! I save my face! Shaving your face is a really great way to exfoliate your skin and get all the dead skin cells off the surface! I use these razors from Amazon. All you do is pull your skin tight and slide the razor down your face to remove all hair and dead skin cells. No your hair will not grow back in thicker! By removing the hair on your face it actually helps skin care products to work more efficiently since there is no longer a barrier between your products and your skin.

Skin Scrubber

This is one of my new face tools I got and I am in love with it! I use this face scrubber! The face scrubber works by using high frequency vibration and then you run the scraper on your face and kind of scrub the dead skin, black heads, white heads, and other things off your face. This is absolutely the best thing I have ever used on my nose for black heads. I get pesky little black heads that you can barely see. When I put this face scrubber on my nose, I can see the black heads coming out! It’s so satisfying!

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is something that is typically done in a salon or spa, but they do sell home use machines. I have never had it done at a spa so I don’t really know how they compare. This is the microdermabrasion machine I use! About once a week I use this on my face. The microdermabrasion machine works by exfoliating your skin and using a vacuum like effect to pull the dead skin off of the face. When you use this, you can see the amount of dead skin that comes off! Also, very satisfying!

These are four of my favorite ways to exfoliate my skin! Like I said, I exfoliate about 2-3 times a week. Also, please make sure after you exfoliate your skin, use a moisturizer! Your skin can get irritated from exfoliating and it’s important to nourish it after wards!
